Privacy policy

This is a static website. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and collects no personal data directly. Two third parties are involved: the hosting provider, and Vimeo for the videos on some photo pages.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To deliver the pages and protect the site against attacks, Cloudflare processes your IP address and standard request data (browser, requested URL, timestamp), and may keep them in its logs for a short time. I do not use this data for tracking visitors.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in delivering this site securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which covers the transfer of this data to the USA. More in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Embedded videos (Vimeo)

Some photo pages embed videos from Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., New York, USA). Until you start a video, such a page shows only a preview image served from this site, and nothing is loaded from Vimeo. When you click play, your browser loads the player from Vimeo’s servers, which receive your IP address and the address of the page; Vimeo may also set cookies. The player is embedded with Vimeo’s “do not track” option.

The legal basis is your consent, given by clicking play (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). It covers only that one video; reloading the page shows the preview again. More in Vimeo’s privacy policy.
